When we tested out the Wellpur Hovda GF110 mattress it was reduced to £375 in the double size or £275 in the single size. King size was £475 while superking size was £550.

Firmness rating of the Wellpur Hovda GF110
As much discussed on this website, there isn’t a one size fits all solution for a mattress. You need to try a few out and figure out which is right for your weight and build.
I can let you know how I found this mattress but you really need to test it for yourself, or look for one with a trial period before jumping in with both feet.
For the purposes of comparison, I weigh about 13 stone and am about six foot tall.
As always, I lay down on the mattress to see whether it was difficult or easy to squeeze my hand underneath my spine. In this instance, it was about right for me in that it wasn’t too difficult but wasn’t too easy to get my hand under.
If it’s very easy then the mattress is probably too firm for you, but if it’s too difficult than the mattress is almost certainly too soft. You’ll get a good feel for this after trying out several mattresses for yourself.
I tend to sleep on my front and found that in a front sleeping position or a back sleeping position this mattress was about the right firmness level for me. The model I was testing was advertised as being firm. Personally, I would say it was closer to a medium-firm and would give it 6/10 for firmness with 1/10 being soft and 10/10 being firm.

Edge firmness on the Wellpur Hovda GF110
Next up we like to test out whether the mattress has a consistent level of firmness or whether the edges are considerably softer, which is sometimes the case. I would say the Wellpur Hovda GF110 scored very well on edge support.
I lay on my side on the very edge of the bed but didn’t feel as though I was going to fall off. I would not say there was any more significant compression than there was towards the middle of the mattress.
I then sat on the edge of the bed as if I was putting my socks on, and whilst it did sink in a little, I would still say it performed very well.

Motion transfer test on the Wellpur Hovda GF110
We couldn’t carry out our usual motion transfer test as we were testing a single version of the mattress, which doesn’t give a full impression.
What we normally do is to get two people to lie side by side. One person then moves around whilst the other person tries to rate how much movement they can feel.
Whilst we couldn’t do the full test we could tell with some confidence that this mattress has got an excellent motion transfer rating and had very little wobble to it. This is quite common on firmer foam mattresses that don’t use any springs at all, which is the case with this mattress.

Specification and design of the Wellpur Hovda GF110
Finally, a few words on the design of this mattress. As mentioned previously, there are absolutely no springs in this mattress and instead it uses several layers of foam. There’s a layer of memory foam towards the top and other types of foam lower down.
This mattress does have a little bit of a sinking and hugging feeling that you get with memory foam but certainly nowhere near the degree that you get with a Tempur mattress which is probably the most famous (and expensive) foam mattress brand.
One other thing worth giving a mention to is that this mattress comes with a 25-year guarantee, which is exceptionally long. Most mattresses of this design and price tag would normally come with a 10-year warranty. Needless to say, you need to read the small print of a warranty but it’s an impressive headline figure.

Final thoughts on the Wellpur Hovda GF110
Considering the modest price we were very impressed with this mattress, which performed well in our tests and offers a comfort level that is about right for me. You’ll need to try it for yourself to see if it suits your weight and build just as well.
